Planktonic Algae
The latest lake treatment news.
Lake Management Sciences completed a planktonic algae treatment today. There was a small amount of planktonic algae in the lake, and this second treatment will hopefully knock it back for a while. Please allow 10-14 days to see the results. Additionally, they did a small touchup lilypad treatment in the cove areas. There are no water restrictions. Lake Management Sciences continues to report that the lake is in excellent health. Enjoy the warm weather!

Algal Bloom
A recent algal bloom in Crandon.
The Lake Resource Committee has been aware of the algal bloom that appeared over the last few days. At our request, Lake Management Sciences completed a shoreline survey yesterday and returned today (6/20) for treatment. The lake was treated with an algaecide. Results can be expected within 10-14 days of treatment. There are no water use restrictions with this treatment. We expect good results and are staying on top of the situation the best we can. As always, thank you for your patience as we work to improve the health of our lake! Get out there and enjoy the lake!

A Special Performance by The Harrison's
We are sorry that the Harrison's performance was cancelled last Friday. The weather called for showers and possible lightning and they decided not to chance it. Unfortunately, they are booked for weekends the rest of the summer, however, they found they can come back and gave us a date of Wednesday 7/26 at 7:00. This will be our first music night during the week, however, they are special and a crowd favorite. So put it on your calendar and hope to see everyone there.

Treatment Feedback
Feedback after a recent lake treatment.
Lake Management Sciences conducted a survey of the lake today. They once again reported back that the lake is in great health for the time of the year. The treatment from last time has significantly knocked back weeds and lily pads. They have done some additional applications of the Sonar treatment thought the lake. It will be about 10-14 days before the effects of the treatment will be visible. The water use restriction for this treatment is within the same window from the last treatment and is to not use the lake water for irrigation for 30 days from the date of the first treatment (5/13). If you have any questions or concerns, please do not reach out to LMS directly, but email lake.resources@crandonlakes.org. LMS has reported clarity up to 12'! Go out and enjoy the lake (once the smoke clears!) Thanks everyone!
