Lake Ecology Update
A CLCC Ecology Update
Crandon Lakes Community,
The Board of Directors and the Lake Resources Committee have unanimously voted to hire Lake Management Sciences as our lake management consultant for the summer of 2023. We are excited to bring on this new firm and are very hopeful for the health of our lake! Please be patient, as the solutions that are to be implemented take time to work and it may take a few summers to get the lake back to its pristine state. As we did this past summer, we will notify the community when there are to be treatments in the lake. Under no circumstances are shareholders to contact Lake Management Sciences directly. Any and all concerns or questions regarding lake health should be emailed to lakeresources@crandonlakes.org. We also encourage shareholders to come to the Board of Directors meetings to get more detailed information. Official announcements will come via email from an official Crandon Lakes address, mailings, or the official Crandon Lakes Facebook page. We ask that everyone be respectful of our previous consultant as we thank them for their efforts at our lake for the last 20+ years.
A big thank you to all of the members of the Lake Resource Committee for their hard work and countless hours working to keep our lake healthy and interviewing lake management consultant candidates!
Thank you, summer is right around the corner!
Gene Bove

Boat Ramp Damage
Regarding damage to the West Beach boat ramp.
CLCC Community
The West Beach boat ramp area sustained significant damage on 11/4/22 and has been roped off for safety. The work performed on the area was unauthorized by the CLCC Board of Directors. We solicited bids to remediate the situation. This work began late last week and will be completed as quickly as possible by an experienced contractor under a specific scope of work. It will fix the recent damage and complete the originally planned renovation of the area. Damages will be pursued for the unauthorized work.
As a reminder, all work on CLCC owned property requires written approval of the Board of Directors. Formal accurate information on board sanctioned activities is posted via our Facebook page , newsletter, email broadcast messages, physical message boards or at monthly CLCC board meetings.
CLCC Board of Directors
Thank You!
To Our Lake Volunteers…
Crandon Lakes Country Club would like to take a moment to thank all of our volunteers. The countless hours put in by board members, committee members, and shareholders are what make all of this possible!
Interested in helping the community? There are a lot of ways to help out!
Do's:
Join a committee;
Pick up trash off the roads or beach areas;
Help out at community-sponsored events;
Join a committee;
Attend Board of Directors meetings; voice your opinions
Participate!
Pick up after your dogs
Don't's:
Undertake a project on CLCC property without notifying the Board of Directors. Use of mechanical equipment without Board permission and coverage could lead to an accident and insurance claims impacting the community
Someone else will volunteer
Stirring up negativity without getting the facts or coming to Board meetings to express your opinion
We are extremely grateful for all of our volunteers and our ongoing projects. Any ideas are welcomed. If you have a few, notify the Board of Directors or appropriate committee chairperson and we will be happy to listen. We want the community involved. We represent you!
Thank you again to all of our wonderful volunteers!
Boat Removal
Information regarding boat removal.
All boats need to be removed from the boat racks at the East and West beaches by November 5th. If you have not done so already, please remove your boats immediately. If your boat is not off the racks by Saturday, November 19th, we will remove and take ownership of them as abandoned property.
Lowering Notice
Regarding the lake lowering…
As we continue lowering the lake, we would like to remind everyone that it is against our rules and regulations and also against the law to dump anything in the lake or on the exposed shoreline. This includes, but is not limited to leaves and lawn clippings. If you are caught, you will be fined by CLCC and reported to local authorities. We are working diligently to improve the health of the lake and polluting the lake works against our efforts.
Lowering of the Lake 2022
The 2022 lake lowering has begun!
The lake lowering has begun today (10/19). We will continue to lower the lake to the permitted depth of 24"-30" at the dam over the next two weeks. We hope that the lake will be down to that depth by November 1st.
Thank you!
Lowering Update
An update regarding the lowering of the lake.
The lake lowering will be delayed for a few days as the lake level is exceptionally high and we do not want to push too much water through the dam and stream.
We are asking that if you see the contractor at the dam to please NOT take pictures or videos. A few years ago someone tried to remove/vandalize boards and showing the process of how they are properly removed may encourage this/give away the process.
Thank you all for your patience.
Lake Lowering, Etc.
Steps to take before the lake is lowered in November.
Reminder: We will begin to lower the Lake incrementally on October 15th. The Lake is required to be lowered to its desired depth by November 1st. We are lowering the lake by approximately 24"-30" at the dam. If you have not done so already, please remove your boats from the water immediately. It is up to the property owners' discretion if they are to remove their docks or not. In addition, please remove all boats, kayaks, paddle boards, etc. from the boat racks on the East Beach and West beach by November 1st. Thank you!
