Recreation Volunteers Needed
Read about our new approach to the Crandon Recreation Calendar.
Since participation at some of our recreational activities has been low, the CLCC Board has decided to try a new approach to this seasons recreational activities. We will only be hosting activities that someone from the community is willing to take charge of. We have been trying for a long time to get more volunteers from our community, now is your chance to step up.
Also, at this time we would like to thank Jen Domaracki for chairing our recreational team for the past eight years. John Nelson has volunteered to attempt to fill her shoes. Please give him a message at Jetans318@gmail.com for any ideas you may have for recreation. Please keep in mind that you need to be willing to chair the activity.
Below is a list of current activities scheduled for our upcoming season. Actual dates will be in our newsletter, posted on this site, facebook and all community bulletin boards. Please remember that without your help some of activities from previous years such as the boat regatta, Easter egg hunt, arts & crafts for kids, December holiday event. etc, will not be held.

Volunteers Needed!
Volunteers are needed to plan and organize lake recreation activities.
Crandon Lake is in need of volunteers to plan and execute our recreation calendar. The busiest months of the year are June through August. We typically have events for Halloween, Christmas, Easter, and a few group activities as well.
A date and description of each activity should be forwarded to the CLCC Board of Directors to be published in our annual mailing, Facebook page, and website.
Planning will begin in April for events that begin at the start of the CLCC fiscal year. Volunteers would work within a budget given by the CLCC Board of Directors.
It is our hope to have several volunteers to delegate responsibilities.
Should you have any questions or interest, please respond here.
Thank you!
ALERT! Suspicious Individual
Please be on alert for a suspicious individual.
A white male, approximately in his mid-40's knocked on a resident's door near Scarpulla Field around 1 pm today.
The man was on foot, wearing a hooded sweatshirt. He claimed to be completing construction work in the area and wanted to quote on a window replacement. When asked for his business card, he did not have one. When he was then asked for a business name, he turned and walked away.

Community Garden 2016
To those who have community garden plots and those who may be interested for 2016 —
I fought weeds and the weeds won! ...
Hi
Our community garden has had a very successful year. All the plots were filled and we may possibly expand going into next year. If you are interested in joining us next Spring, please let me know by year's end. Those of you that have had plots, please do some weeding before the Winter freeze sets in.
The last veggie holdout has been Kale in one of the community plots. If you want some, please cut some off. I believe this will continue to grow for another month. There is also peppermint growing on one of the paths. I'm sure the owner wouldn't mind cutting some of it back.
So again if you were thinking of growing free, organic vegetables next Spring let me know.
Thx
Paul Rockwood
Vice President- CLCC
Boat Removal
Please remove your boat from the East and West Beach boat racks by November 1st.
NOTICE:
ALL BOATS SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE EAST AND WEST BOAT RACKS BY NOVEMBER 1ST.
Lake Treatment Scheduled
Note: Lake treatment this week!
The lake will be treated on Tuesday, October 6th and Wednesday, October 7th.
The Tuesday treatment will be for weeds in the coves and by the West Beach. This treatment has a 3 day drinking restriction and a 5 day irrigation restriction.
A new invasive weed was discovered that we never had before and needs to be treated before it has a chance of getting established.
The Wednesday treatment will be for the lily pads in the entrance cove with no restrictions.
